Myung-Jin Lee
Myung-Jin Lee(Lee is his last name) was born in Korea and graduated from Seoul Technichal College with a degree in Visual Design. In 1992, he began work on his first Manhwa "It's Going to be a Wonderful Night" or "An Evening Something Wonderful May Happen" (retitled "Lights Out" for the TOKYOPOP English release), which ran for four years and won him the distinguished Champ Super Manhwa Award from Korea's top Manhwa publisher.
In 1995, he put his artistic career on hold to serve for two years in the Korean military. Upon his return, he formed his studio, Dive to Dream Sea (DTDS), and began work on Ragnarok, one of the top-selling and most beloved Manhwa of all time, which he continues to work on to this day. Expanding upon his epic fantasy, Myung Jin Lee has also become involved in the creation of Ragnarok Online.
In 2004, Ragnarok achieved a new milestone, becoming the first Korean Manhwa to inspire a Japanese anime series. Based on the chacter designs and sensibilities of the online game, Ragnarok: The Animation is currently running on TV Tokyo.
Lee's studio, Dive to Dream Sea, also created the 2-volume indie comics comedy manhwa Laya, the Witch of Red Pooh.
